Application Timeline

For the 2021-2022 school year, any rising 9th grader that has an interest and passion for computer science from a participating school division may apply for CodeRVA – no prerequisites exist other than interest.

Participating school divisions include:

Chesterfield, Colonial Heights City, Cumberland, Dinwiddie, Hanover, Henrico, Hopewell City, New Kent, Petersburg City, Powhatan, Prince George, Richmond City, Sussex and Charles City.

Selection

One of CodeRVA’s goals is to address socioeconomic, gender, and racial inequities by providing a high quality, computer science focused education to facilitate entry into IT-related career fields for all students. To this end, CodeRVA’s selection process is hosted by an independent third-party company who oversees our controlled choice lottery system.
