    So, I was kind of surprised at how much not having an audience threw me with my presentation prerecording. Watching it back, it's pretty clear this wasn't my best work. Something to work on since talks will probably be like this for a while, I guess!

    Oh, yes. the Cowboy Bebop soundtracks came on to Spotify some time in the last month or so. Now I can enjoy the soundtrack to my favorite TV show ever anytime. Also, this special version of The Real Folk Blues from a while ago is FIRE.

    Oh wow, I felt this thread on many levels.

    Ancient sysadmin wisdom: don’t use ‘>’ as part of your shell prompt. You’re one copy/paste error away from truncating a file. There’s a reason root’s ‘#’ prompt gets interpreted as a comment.

    Well, had to happen eventually. Glad that our first CVE was a straightforward fix. Thanks to Alex Brand and for reporting and fixing respectively.

    Contour has published its first CVE: Contour prior to 1.7 had a DOS vulnerability in the recommended Envoy deployment for Contour. This has been fixed in Contour 1.7, and all users should upgrade as soon as possible.

    Also, having the first question be basically "look, we all know mining is awesome, but how are we going to use the great relations with China and mining to solve the pandemic" was a bit on the nose, even by Australian standards.

    I've had depression on and off for years, when it's on, I go and see a psychologist, the same way I go and see a doctor if I'm physically sick. Let's all normalise this stuff together.

    I suffer from anxiety and x depression, related to C-PTSD. I saw a psychologist for a couple of years, and next month I'm going to start seeing a psychiatrist. I'm currently taking Aropax and have previously been on Lexapro.

    The current government seems to have it in for universities for some reason. Can't have anything to do with teaching inconvenient things like critical thinking and the ability to evaluate evidence, can it?

    I want you to meet the Liberal-National Coalition members who were at uni while it was FREE. Instead of making corporations pay their tax and making uni and TAFE free for all, they're doubling the cost of humanities degrees. Thread 👇🏽
