Alpha Pokémon aren't just bigger and angrier than their regular-sized counterparts. They come with maxed out HP EVs, have three to four perfect IVs, and can know moves that aren't available via level up. This, combined with their larger hitboxes, make Alpha Pokémon very desirable.
Alpha Pokémon appear in Wild Zones in the base game, but they are also available in Hyperspace. By default, you encounter one Alpha per 100 Pokémon. Those odds aren't great. Luckily, you can boost your chances of encountering Alpha Pokémon by crafting a specific donut and using a few tricks in Hyperspace!
The best way to find more Alpha Pokémon is to make a sweet donut with the Alpha Power stat. Each berry in Pokémon has a certain flavor profile, which you can see in the Flavor Profile graph on the right side of the screen when hovering over a berry in the donut-making menu. Every flavor offers different stats. The stat that you need to find more Alpha Pokémon is the Alpha Power stat, which you get by using sweet berries.
The Alpha Power stat makes Alpha Pokémon more likely to appear in Hyperspace. Sparkling Power is another stat you could look out for. It's not needed to find more Alpha Pokémon, but it can appear when you're using sweet berries to make donuts. Sparkling Power increases your chances of finding shiny Pokémon. If you make a donut with Alpha Power and Sparkling Power, you could even find a shiny Alpha, if you're lucky!
The special effects that donuts grant increase in quality from level one to level three. So while an Alpha Power Lvl 1 or 2 stat is still beneficial; it could be better. The best donuts have Alpha Power Lvl 3.
This is most easily achieved by creating a Imposing Tanga Meringue Donut, which you can make with 6x 
Hyper Tanga Berries and 2x 
Hyper Chople Berries.
You need to complete Hyperspace Lumiose Survey No. 5 to unlock eight berry slots. So while this donut recipe is the best, it's not accessible if you're just starting your DLC adventure. But don't worry! Donuts with Alpha Power are still achievable with less powerful recipes. Start by using one or two sweet Hyper Berries in combination with regular sweet berries to boost the sweet flavor profile while still giving you a chance at getting that Alpha Power stat.
Donut stats are random, so you might not get Alpha Power or any stat at all. If you use your last batch of sweet berries and get nothing that's the opposite of farming! Luckily, there is a way to re-roll your donut's stats. To do this, make sure you head to a Pokémon Center and heal up your Pokémon before you start baking. That creates a hidden save that you can revert back to later.
From there, go back to Hotel Z and bake your donut. If you’re not happy with your stats and would like to try again, follow these instructions to revert back to your earlier save.
This method ensures you always get the stats you're looking for from your berries, so you can make the most of your stash and greatly reduce the amount of time you spend farming!

Once you're armed with your freshly baked Alpha Power Donut, you are ready to enter Hyperspace and start searching for your Alpha. You probably already have an idea of what Alpha Pokémon you're looking for. If that's the case, inspect the open Hyperspace Zones around Lumiose to find your Pokémon. Avoid Battle Zones and the Unknown Wild Zones when searching for Alphas. Battle Zones don't have any wild Pokémon, and you can't see what Pokémon appear in Unknown areas until you get there. Hyper Wild Zones are the best places to find these powerful Pokémon!
You can see what Type of Pokémon appear in each Hyperspace Wild Area by checking the icon below the zone on the map. Hover over the Hyper Wild Zone to bring up the list of Pokémon that spawn there.
If no open Hyper Wild Zones contain the Pokémon you're looking for, use one of the benches around town to kill some time and refresh the portals. Once you find a suitable Hyperspace Zone, head over to the portal and feed Hoopa your Alpha Power Donut to start hunting!

Using an Alpha Power Donut increases your chances of finding an Alpha, but it doesn't guarantee what Alphas spawn. Luckily, there are a few tricks you can use to find the exact Alpha you want. Pokémon appear in small clusters in Hyperspace. If you can see a cluster of your desired Pokémon from the portal gate, you can open the map and fast travel back to the portal. That resets all Pokémon in the area, so keep doing it until an Alpha appears. Make sure to save your game before you engage the Alpha so you can reload if something goes wrong.
If you can't see your desired Pokémon from the gate, don't worry! There's still one more trick you can use. First, find the cluster of Pokémon you're looking for. If there is no Alpha present, defeat the entire cluster and time exactly how long it takes for the Pokémon to respawn. Then, defeat the cluster again. Start counting down, and save your game a few seconds before the Pokémon respawn. If there's still no Alpha, close the game and reopen it to reset the cluster again. Keep doing that until your Alpha appears, and remember to save your game once the Alpha turns up just in case you lose it!
