Locations
Here are all major locations in Star Fox Adventures. You can use these checklists to mark whether you've visited, or 100% completed, each area. Remember that you visit locations multiple times during the overall quest.
Ancient Well
How to get to it: The Ancient Well is a circular structure in the northeast of ThornTail Hollow. Tricky can open a hole at its cracked base via the Find Secret command. Fox will find quest items inside the well that he needs to progress in the story. It's the location of the six White GrubTubs Fox needs to save Queen EarthWalker.
Cape Claw
How to get to it: Follow the wooden sign near Fox's Arwing in ThornTail Hollow. The entrance to Cape Claw is near LightFoot Village. Fox has to pay 60 Scarabs to open up the gate.
CloudRunner Fortress
How to get to it: CloudRunner Fortress is located on a piece of rock floating in space which broke off of Dinosaur Planet. Fox needs to first save the CloudRunner Queen to open up the vortex needed to visit it. He also needs 10 Fuel Cells to select the destination after entering his Arwing.
Dragon Rock
How to get to it: Dragon Rock is a location that can be selected from the Arwing travel map as soon as a key ThornTail in ThornTail Hollow opens the vortrex to get to it late in the campaign. Fox needs 15 fuel cells to travel to Dragon Rock (and he needs to fly through 10 Golden Rings with his Arwing to reach it).
Game Well Maze
How to get to it: The Game Well Maze can only be accessed by using the talking WarpStone in ThornTail Hollow. To unlock the ability to use the WarpStone's warp capabilities, you have to spend 10 Scarabs on Rock Candy in the ThornTail Store and then gift it to him.
Ice Mountain
How to get to it: Ice Mountain can only be accessed by using the talking WarpStone in ThornTail Hollow. Once you have spent 10 Scarabs on Rock Candy in the ThornTail Store and gifted it to him, Ice Mountain will be a permanent option on the WarpStone's warp menu. Talk to him and then select it to instantly go there. Ice Mountain directly connects to SnowHorn Wastes.
Krazoa Palace
How to get to it: Krazoa Palace is one of the first locations to appear in the game. As you progress in the story, it can be accessed again by using the talking WarpStone in ThornTail Hollow. Once you have spent 10 Scarabs on Rock Candy in the ThornTail Store and gifted it to him, "Krazoa" will be a permanent option on the WarpStone's warp menu.
LightFoot Village
How to get to it: LightFoot Village comprises a wooded area outside its walls ad well as the actual village locked away behind a gate. To get to it, take the slope down near Fox's Arwing. LightFoot Village is on the way to Cape Claw. The village is made up of huts built on raised walkways on top of a lake. You can access the village early on, but there won't be anything to do inside until you're captured and brought there later in the quest. The code to open the gate is tied to the trees with the targets painted on them. Hit them with your staff in this order, in relation to the closed gate: closest, farthest, middle.
Moon Mountain Pass
How to get to it: After lighting the ThornTail Hollow Beacons after returning from the DarkIce Mines, you will get the Moon Pass Key. The entrance that leads to the pass is between the temple and the circular stone monument with the Ancient Well inside.
Head down the slope and continue through the caves until you get to a guard house. The key will unlock it, opening up the pass.
Ocean Force Point Temple
How to get to it: Ocean Force Point Temple is accessible from Cape Claw. As you progress in the story, you will have to place two Fire Gems in two Krazoa statues to open a door that leads to a secluded beach. A SpellStone is needed to open the gate.
SnowHorn Wastes
How to get to it: The first time you visit SnowHorn Wastes, you get there by racing SharpClaws down a hillside.
After this, you can directly access the region any time from ThornTail Hollow Climb the ladder behind the ancient well and enter the cave at the top.
ThornTail Hollow
How to get to it: ThornTail Hollow is the central hub for all of Fox's adventures. All other areas are connected and can be reached via caves, the WarpStone, or Fox's Arwing. Since it's the central location, Fox will frequently return to it. ThornTail Hollow is also home to the only shop found in this game world, the ThornTail Shop (detailed below).
Use this area map to figure out how to get around.
To return to ThornTail Hollow from other areas in space, select Dinosaur Planet. Unfortunately, there are no warp systems that let you easily get back here from inside other connected areas.
ThornTail Store
How to get to it: The ThornTail Store, with its cranky SharpClaw proprietor Shabunga, is located underground, accessible from ThornTail Hollow's monumental stone wall. The shop sells key items, infinite power-ups, (optional) Fuel Cells, as well as maps.
Volcano Force Point Temple
How to get to it: Volcano Force Point Temple can be reached via Moon Mountain Pass. Basically, if you head straight up the pass from the guard house (which is unlocked with the Moon Mountain Pass Key as part of mid-game story progression) you'll eventually enter a passage with platforms leading across lava. A series of obstacles will lead straight to the entrance to the temple. The temple can only be entered with a SpellStone and by completing a colored flame puzzle.
Walled City
How to get to it: Walled City is locked on another piece of rock that has broken off of Dinosaur Planet. Fox needs to have collected the Portal Device late in the game, which will open up the path. To fly to Walled City, Fox needs 12 Fuel Cells. The location will then be selectable on the Arwing travel screen. Collecting seven Gold Rings will ensure Fox actually gets there.
