The 900 Korok Seeds in Zelda: Breath of the Wild are scattered around Hyrule and are hidden within mini-challenges and puzzles. If you collect enough seeds, you can trade Korok Seeds with Hestu for increased inventory space for weapons, shields, and bows. How to Find Korok Seeds in BotW

Korok Seeds are everywhere in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and the best way to find them is simply to pay attention to your surroundings. There are several very simple puzzles that you must complete in order to receive the seed, but the difficulty lies with identifying those puzzles as puzzles.

Below you can find a list of the Korok Seed puzzles and their locations. There are 900 Korok Seed puzzles out in Hyrule. Korok Seeds can be used as currency with the Korok Hestu, near Kakariko Village. See the side quest The Priceless Maracas to see how to trigger the ability to trade Korok Seeds.

Korok Seed Puzzle Types

A good rule of thumb is that Korok Seeds can be anywhere and everywhere. If something looks odd or out of place, there's probably a Korok Seed to be found. Below are all of the puzzle types to keep an eye out for while exploring.

Acorn

Hanging under bridges, hidden in fallen logs, or within tree trunks are large acorns. Shoot them with an arrow to reveal a hidden Korok.

Ball and Chain

Using Magnesis, you can pick up these metal orbs and drop them into a hollow tree they are chained to. In some cases, you may encounter two metal balls connected by a chain. You may have to Stasis one of them to keep it in place while moving the other with Magnesis.

Block Puzzle

There are usually two structures made from stone blocks. Use a metal crate with Magnesis to move it into the correct place. You want both structures to look the same in the end. Some of the sculptures may be flipped or upside down. Yet other puzzles rely on you finding the metal block nearby (just use Magnesis to spot it more easily) or carrying the block to a sculpture on the other side of a river. Remember, if you cannot reach, you can use your other powers to create an ice bridge or stack boxes to get closer.

Boulder (Hole)

Look for boulders near round depressions or large holes in the ground. Push the boulder into the hole to complete the puzzle. Sometimes the boulders are at the top of a hill and not right by the hole. Other locations will have the holes filled with lava, but the same principle applies.

Boulder (Goal)

If you see conspicuously placed boulders, such as a set of three, look for a possible "goal" such as two trees next to each other, if no hole is near. That means you have to roll a boulder through the gap between the two.

Flower Trail

Yellow flowers guide you to a Korok location. Link's camera rune will not identify these flowers. Walk up to one and it'll disappear; look for the next one and follow the path. In some cases, flowers appear in clusters. These correspond to numbers and the order you have to touch them. If you don't do them in the right order, the puzzle will reset.

Fruit Trees

Look for suspicious tree formations that have different amounts of fruit on them. Pick fruit to even them out to make the Korok appear. You basically want to end up with all the trees looking the same. Use arrows for better accuracy.

Ice

If you see an isolated ice block, get out some fire and melt it. Once it's gone, a Korok appears. If you don't want to waste a fire arrow or wood, you can equip a flame weapon and just stand next to the block to make it melt.

Lily Circle

If you see a circle of water lilies in a pond or lake, find high ground and perform a forward dive into the circle. As long as you land somewhere in the center, the Korok will appear.

Moving Sparks

Look for moving sparkly firefly-like phenomena. Run up to one and examine it to reveal the Korok. You can identify these hidden Koroks by the jingling noise they make. In some cases, there are multiple Koroks moving in formation.

Offering

You may find bowls with offerings. If one or more of the bowls or leaves in front of the statues are empty, fill them with the matching item to reveal the Korok. The item you place must match the others. For example, there may be an offering requiring a Rusty Shield that you first have to find nearby.

Petroglyph

A petroglyph is a formation made from rocks. These often appear as spirals or other shapes. Pay close attention to the number of rocks and whether there are gaps. Sometimes, you have to complete a puzzle by getting a nearby rock; sometimes, you have to change the formation slightly. In some cases, there are multiple formations that have to be matched up.

Pinwheel / Target Shoot

Look or listen for an orange pinwheel. When you stand close to it, any number of targets will appear — usually a balloon, or multiple. You may have to move around a bit to see them all, but if you get too close or step away too far from the pinwheel, they may disappear. Figure out their path, then shoot all the balloons with an arrow, then find the next ones and take them out until the Korok appears. In some cases, the pinwheel will trigger acorns being thrown up into the air from a tree. Shoot them to solve the puzzle.

Rock (Single)

There are rock markers throughout Hyrule that are usually located on the peaks of mountains. Just pick up the rock to reveal the Korok.

Rock Throw (Rock Circle)

You will sometimes see finger-like rock formations forming a circle, such as in a river. Find a loose rock and get close, then toss it into the circle. Remember, you can't jump while holding a rock, but you can drop down to a lower level and hop over small gaps to get close. You can also create yourself an ice bridge with Cryonis and slide the rock into the goal or jump on top.

Tree Stump

This is a timed race. The moment you step on the tree stump with the leaf symbol on it, a timer will start. Look for a round stopwatch circle somewhere — that's your goal. Run or float over there as quickly as possible to complete the puzzle. You can use horses, sand seals, your paraglider, or shield surf to get there faster.
