Control Resonant taxi locations

There's seven taxis scattered across New York in Control Resonant and you'll need to find them all to complete 'The Last Taxi' side story. Here's where to find them all in the order that I found them:

West Incursion Zone taxi location

The West Incursion Zone taxi is most likely the first one you'll encounter as it's quite close to the path you'll take to reach the Resonant in this area.

The taxi itself can be found in the small carpark behind the Empire cinema, which itself isn't far from the subway you need to journey through to reach the West Incursion Zone Resonant. Though you will need to change gravity to reach it. If you're having trouble finding this taxi, then keep an ear out for its horn. (Depending on where you're standing, it may be above you.)

Central taxi location

To find the taxi in Central, you first need to go through the building to the right-hand side of the Field Office to access the part of Central containing the Patterned Factory. Once there continue forward until you can take the first proper road to your left. You then need to head this road until you reach a lorry. Though immobile, this lorry will be positioned as if it's turning into the road where, at the bottom, you'll find the taxi.

Central's taxi is also close to the factory you'll visit during the 'Crossing the Threshold' side story, so, whether you've completed or simply progressed through said side story, it's worth checking your map to see if the taxi's location has already logged.

Underpass taxi location

To reach this taxi, you first need to progress through the 'Recursions and Iterations' mission until you've reached the point where you've crossed the chasm. After doing that, follow the relays through this section of the Underpass until you reach the point where the research camp reappears. Again.

If you go to the north-eastern side of the camp, you'll be able to see the taxi flashing its headlights and hear its horn going. (If you're having trouble spotting it, then try circling the perimeter of the camp.) From there, you simply need to head towards the taxi and climb up the ledge to reach it.

It's perfectly safe to complete this taxi puzzle during the 'Recursions and Iterations' mission. Yes, the taxi will drop you off in a different location but it won't be far at all from where you started. Don't worry if you'd prefer to wait though, you'll unlock a fast travel spot for this part of the Underpass by progressing forward. Using this fast travel spot will result in some back tracking, but it's honestly not that far.

Downtown taxi location

This taxi is found in the Deserted Area of Downtown, which means you'll need to climb over the wall separating this area from the main part of this Zone. The exact location of the taxi is within a traffic jam in the most northerly section of the Deserted Area. Just follow the main road upwards and you'll find it in no time!

The Park taxi location

Helpfully, this taxi is parked within the car park found close to the central area of The Park. Sadly, it's not parked in an easy to reach area. Instead, you'll need to first make your way to the car park's roof.

To do this, first enter the car park from the main entrance near the central part of The Park. (And by that I mean where the pit leading to The Park Resonant is.) Next, go through the car park until you're on the road on the other side of the building. From there, head left until you've passed the car park building. You'll now be able to see a wall of mold to your left.

To reach the car park roof, you need to climb up this mold! Thankfully, it's an easy climb and you'll also find this Zone's vendor parked at the top of the car park. Finding the vendor also means you're now directly above the taxi.

Now look towards the centre of the car park itself to see a large growth of mold. Jump down onto this mold and you'll be able to make your way onto the lower level of the car park. With this done, simply follow the car park path around until you're finally at the taxi.

Evacuation Zone taxi location

The Evacuation Zone taxi is located in-between the road leading to the unauthorised mines marked on the main map and the road leading between the Sinkhole and Evac Building.

The easiest way to reach it is to head to the road leading between the Sinkhole and the Evac Building. Once there, make sure you're in the part of the road closest to the Evac Building. You now want to look for an alleyway which has Hiss Spikes at its opening. Time to head down this alley!

Down this alley, you'll quickly find more Hiss Spikes and some lasers to your left. The taxi sits beyond these Hiss Spikes, so you'll need to make your way past them. It's far easier to just climb from roof to roof though rather than trying to dodge the spikes and lasers at the same time. No matter which route you take, you'll find the taxi on the other side.

Unknown taxi location

You'll find this taxi on the island containing the Evac Building. To reach said island, you will need to progress through both the 'Pope's Research' side story and 'Sever the Hedron Links' main mission as these are necessary for traversing the Unknown. (Especially 'Pope's Research'.)

Once you're on the island containing the Evac Building, however, the taxi is very easy to find. Simply stand in front of the Evac Building and you'll be able to spot it at the end of a road - it's to your right if you're looking at the Evac Building and to your left if you're looking away from the building.

Control Resonant taxi puzzle solutions

You'll need to solve seven variations of The Last Taxi puzzle to complete this Control Resonant side story. Before I get into the solutions though, there's three important things you need to remember.

Firstly, you always need to enter a taxi in the main New York overworld to access its threshold (or puzzle area if you will). I've covered the taxi locations in the next section. Secondly, if you've made the right selection in the puzzle, you'll receive a short cutscene of a traffic light gaining a green light. Finally, I've noted down the Zones in which I found each taxi before the puzzle solutions. You may, however, encounter different puzzles in different locations to me, but the solution for each puzzle will remain the same. Now onto the solutions!

Taxi puzzle one solution

I got this puzzle from the West Incursion Zone taxi:

1. Go into the back alley to the left of the main road and answer the phone.
2. Enter the taxi beneath the flashing streetlight.
3. Enter the taxi beneath the only non-flashing streetlight.
4. Enter the taxi beneath the flashing light which is out-of-sync with the others. There's a chance this taxi will be directly to your right at the start of this puzzle section.

I got this puzzle from the Central taxi:

1. Go into the back alley to the left of the main road and answer the phone.
2. Enter the taxi which has its headlights, backlights and taxi sign lit up.
3. Enter the taxi which has its taxi sign lit up.
4. Enter the taxi which has its headlights, backlights and taxi sign lit up.

Taxi puzzle three solution

I got this puzzle from the Underpass taxi:

1. Go into the back alley to the left of the main road and answer the phone.
2. Wait for the streetlights to flicker off, then enter the taxi which still has its headlights, backlights and taxi sign lit up.
3. Wait for the streetlights to flicker off and enter the taxi which has no lights on.
4. Enter the taxi with no lights on. To ensure you get the right one - wait for the streetlights to flicker and, when this happens, all of the taxi's lights will flash for a second.

Taxi puzzle four solution

I got this puzzle from the Downtown taxi:

1. Go into the back alley to the left of the main road and answer the phone.
2. Enter the taxi with the 'Taxi' light on.
3. Run up to each taxi and get into the one which doesn't turn off the 'Taxi' light when you're standing next to it.
4. Run up to any taxi before panning the camera around to spot a taxi with the 'Taxi' light on. You may get lucky and pick the right taxi straight away!

Taxi puzzle five solution

I got this puzzle from The Park taxi:

1. Go into the back alley to the left of the main road and answer the phone.
2. Destroy the clumps of mold before placing the car bonnet and boot covers back on the taxi. Now you can get in!
3. Place the yellow car bonnet cover and two wheels on the taxi before getting in. All three of these items can be found on the road.
4. Destroy the three clumps of mold, along with the growths hidden within, connected to the main mold growth covering the taxi. With this done, you can now destroy the mold growth on the taxi.
5. Place the yellow car bonnet cover, taxi light, yellow front side part, dark yellow boot cover and back grill on the taxi before getting in. These items are scattered about the ground and there's two items (police lights and a light yellow car bonnet) that do not go on the taxi.

Taxi puzzle six solution

I got this puzzle from the Evacuation Zone taxi:

1. Get into the back alley to the left of the main road and answer the phone.
2. Enter the taxi which is flashing out-of-sync with the other taxis. You'll easily be able to spot it by watching the taxis flashing on-and-off for a couple of times.
3. Enter the taxi which flashes its lights twice rather than once. Again, take the time to watch the taxis to find the right one.
4. Get into the taxi which doesn't turn its lights on.

Taxi puzzle seven solution

I got this puzzle from the Unknown taxi:

1. Get into the back alley to the left of the main road and answer the phone.
2. Hold the light and shine it on the taxis. You need to find the taxi which doesn't have a shadow of a different vehicle.
3. Again, use the light to find the taxi which has a shadow of the taxi.
4. Yet again - use the light to find the taxi with a taxi shadow.

Once you've completed your seventh taxi puzzle, you'll need to answer the phone in the alley for a final time.
