Ripperdoc Upgrades
Ripperdocs are one of the most important characters you can visit in the game, regardless of which playstyle you build your character toward.
They have benefits for combat-focused, and stealth-focused playthroughs and open up one more opportunity to make some easy cash. And alongside being able to change your Cyberware, they can also change your tattoos!

Operating System
The Operating System is what allows you to hack your enemies and burn out their weapons, reveal other opponents, or you can also fry their brains if you have the right mod equipped on your OS. The Base Ram will determine which actions you can execute like those negative status effects you’ll put on your enemies, or execute hacking attacks on machines.
The buffer size is crucial as it’ll give you more opportunities to be successful in the games mini-hacking game making for more cash extracted, or weaker enemies who have been hacked. Some legendary components give you insane powers, but you’ll need to build toward the specific attribute level required.
How to Equip Mods
To equip mods to your operating system go to your inventory and access your cyberware. There you can select the OS you have applied and equip the mods you’d prefer in each slot.
Upgradable Parts
To swap out your OS or any of the parts we’ll go over, you’ll need to hitup your local ripperdoc to do so, but let’s go over each of the systems you can enhance on your cyberdeck.
Frontal Cortex
Your Frotal Cortex can help you have a passive boost to things like Critical Hit Chance, Critical Hit Damage, Or Damage to a specific enemy type. If you can afford it and are an appropriate level it’s a great passive boost no matter how you play.
Face
Your Face is what you use to scan everything in a given area. With some mods you can again start stacking into critical hit chance, etc
Circulatory System
Your circulatory system enhances passive powers, like this microgenerator which will release an electroshoc that deals damage equal to 20% of the target enemies max health and you can have 3 of these equipped at once! Some other’s we’ve found increase health regen outside of combat, stamina regen, or breach time.
Nervous System
Nervous System has some very interesting items like a Reflex Tuner that will slow time when you’re detected, or your health drops below 25%, or a Neofiber that will increase evasion by 6%.
Integumentary System
Your Integumentary System is where you’ll equip armor buffs.
Skeleton
The Skeleton will increase your carrying capacity or buff your stamina,
Hands
Hands are one of the more important items to modify because you can either have a tattoo, or something that allows you to utilize the smart targeting system on smart weapons.
Smart weapons are those guns that pinpoint a spot on your opponent and proceed to turn on easy aim mode as every bullet will hit that specific location. Aka easy headshots for days. If you don’t think you’d like that it could also increase ricochet shots with power weapons and help improve your targeting options.
Arms
Arms are also important as you could have Gorilla arms that deal extra physical damage, great for a boxing match, but also great for adding the ability to rip turrets from their bases.
Or maybe you prefer having a projectile launcher on-hand (literally) at all times. And of course, you could always go for the classic mantis blades that’ll slice and dice everyone and make you look almost as cool as that character from the original Cyberpunk 2077 teaser.
Legs
And while leg mods that we’ve found are expensive, this is how you unlock double jump, or a power jump, that’ll let you reach new heights with every situation.
No matter what your playstyle is, visit your local Ripperdoc to get started. The game will take you to one through natural story progression, but don’t forget this essentially important upgrade during your playthrough.
