How to get the Noklateo reward in Elden Ring: Nightreign

Thinking of braving the Shrouded City of Noklateo in Elden Ring: Nightreign for the invaluable reward at its heart? Trust me when I say you won't regret it. Where the other Shifting Earth rewards are strong and increase your damage potential or survivability, the reward from Noklateo can save an entire run. It did for me.

In this guide, we'll cover everything you need to know about getting the Noklateo reward in Nightreign, from how to unlock the city to where you need to go, and more. It's one of the tougher Shifting Earth buffs to get, primarily because it's locked behind a boss like The Crater. The upgrade it provides, however, is more than worth the challenge.

How to get the Noklateo reward in Elden Ring: Nightreign

Noklateo's reward is called the "Favor of Noklateo, the Shrouded City". This buff lasts for the rest of your run, and allows you to rise from death once, and become more powerful for a short while after you recover from your downed state. It's like having a Wending Grace item in your inventory, but better, because it doesn't take up an item slot, and it also buffs you when activated.

Getting the Noklateo reward is a two-step process. First, you need to reach the southwestern end of the city where the reward chest is. Then you need to defeat a formidable boss, the Naturalborn of the Void, to claim it. You unlock Noklateo after beating six Nightlords, not including the final boss, Heolstor, the Nightlord . Which bosses you defeat and in what order also doesn't matter, so long as you have the slash symbol over their Expedition icon.

Provided your Noklateo is your Shifting Earth instance, you'll see it dominating the southwestern Limveld skyline. While you can go there on day one, I don't recommend it, as the enemies can easily one or two-shot you if you're lower than level eight or nine. And even at those levels, you're pushing it.

To enter Noklateo, you'll need to jump up the broken bridge that runs toward the city's central waterway. The simplest way to reach the boss guarding the reward is to go right at the fountain at the city's gates. Head up the staircase and keep right down the alleys.

Head up another short staircase, then turn left and continue west, onto the rooftops. You'll eventually reach some scaffolding, which you can take south. Clamber up so you're back on a stone walkway, and continue south through a thin passage, and be careful jumping across a short gap.

When you reach a Site of Grace, keep left and into the hallway with the broken arches. Continue heading south, across a larger gap, through a tower, and into the large cathedral near the staircase and statues. Shortly after entering the huge room, the Naturalborn of the Void will spawn in a blast of cosmic energy.

How to beat the Naturalborn of the Void

If you never played the original Elden Ring, fighting the Naturalborn of the Void to get the Noklateo reward could be a major hurdle. It's not actually a difficult boss, especially compared to the day three Nightlords, but it can one-shot weaker characters if given the chance. We've put together a short list of tips that should help take the beast down

Stick close to its head.

The Naturalborn's head is both its weak spot and one of the safest places you can be during the fight. While there's a high chance of getting hit if you're there, you won't be struck by some of its most annoying attacks if you dodge correctly. The head is also the boss's main weak spot, and you not only deal more damage to it but also increase stance damage. If you're at or around level eight or higher, none of the Naturalborn's attacks should one-shot you unless you haven't buffed your health or are playing a squishier class.

Watch out for its gravity field.

One of the Naturalborn's most damaging attacks has it summon a gravitational distortion in a wide area around itself. You'll know this attack is coming because the air near the boss will start to vibrate and be lit a light pink. That's your cue to quickly book it away from the boss. If you're still in the field after about four seconds, you'll be picked up and slammed into the ground for massive damage. The same is true of its gravity slam, which sees the boss gather purple energy into its hand and shove it into the ground. This creates a localized series of explosions that radiate outward. These AoEs are difficult to dodge properly, so it's best to be out of their range entirely.

Use your Ultimates offensively.

As a formidable great enemy, the Naturalborn of the Void is highly resistant to stagger. However, you and your team can use your damaging Ultimate Arts to knock it back during its more powerful attacks. Doing so buys you a few seconds for DPS and stops any damage coming your way. Support Ultimates like those of the Duchess and Recluse should be used to give the team additional damage and survivability windows you wouldn't have otherwise had. None of you should be going down, and the more Ultimates you can stack, the more staggers you can accrue.

When you finally defeat the Naturalborn of the Void, head to the antechamber it was guarding and collect the power of the city. The Noklateo reward gives you a one-time free and automatic revive that boosts your stats for a brief period. Note that this one-time revive will occur whether your teammates are downed or not, so try to save it for the fight against the Nightlord if possible. If all three of you go down at once, the effect happens simultaneously, giving your whole squad another chance. That's what happened during my first defeat of Augur. After the big sleep bomb, all three of us were knocked, and the Noklateo reward gave us the second chance we needed to win.

If you've managed to acquire the other Shifting Earth rewards, when you grab the one from Noklateo, you'll get an achievement or Trophy for not only the city's power but also for collecting all five powers. As always, if a Shifting Earth reward is available, you should try to claim it. They offer too much power to pass up.
