One of the few raid weapons to come back as part of the BRAVE Arsenal, Midnight Coup is a beloved Destiny 2 Year 1 kinetic hand cannon from the Leviathan raid. The reprised version can potentially compete with some of the best hand cannons in the game.

It's hard to beat the classic and very old-school Outlaw/Rampage combo, which was so good on the original Midnight Coup that Bungie essentially had to sunset the gun. In the current meta, it's a bit less viable. As such, you could alternatively go with Firefly and either One for All or Kinetic Tremors. The former boosts damage by 35% once you hit three targets, which can happen easily thanks to Firefly's elemental explosions on precision kills. Even Firefly/Kinetic Tremors also stacks, triggering a kinetic shockwave with successive damage.

Midnight Coup isn't likely to dominate in PvP, but like most hand cannons, Moving Target/Opening Shot is the roll to aim for. Boost your range in the other slots to optimize what's already a very reliable weapon.
How to Get Midnight Coup
Midnight Coup arrived on April 16 along with the quest called Midnight Ride that's obtainable from Arcite 99-40 in the Hall of Champions. To earn a limited edition masterwork version of the weapon, you must complete one of the following objectives:
- Rapidly defeat combatants using Hand Cannons anywhere in the system. Bonus progress for rapid final blows in Onslaught.
- OR
- Defeat Guardians using Hand Cannons.
If you're already a fan of using hand cannons in the Crucible, that's definitely a faster option here. Load up your favorite exotic, whether that's Ace of Spades, Sunshot, or something else.
