Hardbone Hopper
Despite the Haunting of its shell, it has not been overcome with aggression. Its desire to flee remains too strong.
Hardbone Hoppers are enemies in Hollow Knight: Silksong. They are grazing creatures with sharp senses who are not overcome with aggression despite being haunted.[1]
Behaviour and Tactics
Hops around aimlessly, turning around once it reaches a wall or at random, largely ignoring its surroundings. Occasionally pauses for a moment before resuming hopping. While it does not attack, it still deals contact damage.
It should be noted that they do not take any knockback from Hornet's attacks.
Hardbone Hoppers respawn upon re-entering the room, making getting their Hunter's Journal entry much easier.
Act 3
Black-threaded Hardbone Hoppers have their health quadrupled. They can gain any of the standard void attacks.

Location
Four Hardbone Hoppers can be found in the northeast Deep Docks, and one of them, on the far right side of the room, disappears once Cling Grip has been acquired.
In Act 3, a few more can be found in the northern Far Fields, in the areas north and east of Pilgrim's Rest that are accessible from Hunter's March with the Silk Soar; they are also accompanied by three Hardbone Elders.
