Navigating Control Resonant can be confusing at the best of times, especially as you unlock more traversal powers that make up and down relative. Finding all the Map Kits and thus unlocking all the in-game map for each zone does wonders for getting where you need to go. You’ll discover where to find all the sensors that unlock all the Map Kits in this guide.

Use these links to find the sensor locations in each zone:

Where to Find All Map Kit Sensors

Control Resonant Map Kit Pylon.jpg

Each of Control Resonant's seven zones has a map pylon somewhere near its center. To activate that pylon and earn that zone’s map kit, you need to find and activate three nearby sensors , then interact with the pylon itself. Completing this task should be your first priority when you first enter a new zone. Here’s where to find everything.

Downtown Map Sensor Locations

You’ll need to find the Downtown map sensors as part of the early-game tutorial. They’re all easy to come across.

Control Resonant Downtown Sensor 1.jpg

One of the sensors is is slightly north of the main pylon. You can see the Speed You Can Trust sign on a building a bit further north of it.

Control Resonant Downtown Sensor 2.jpg

You can find a second sensor northeast of the central pylon, near a small, rusted water tower. There’s a green desk and three stacked spotlights right next to it.

Control Resonant Downtown Sensor 3.jpg

A third sensor is southeast of the central pylon in a fenced-off basketball court. You’ll also find what is likely your first fast travel door nearby.

Once you’ve activated all three of these sensors, return to the pylon in the center and interact with it to earn the map kit. You can then open the in-game map for a slightly more detailed look at many points of interest in your current zone.

Central Map Sensor Locations

The map pylon in Central atop an orange portable office on the western side in the main plaza north of the Downtown checkpoint.

There’s a map sensor a short hop north of the main pylon on top of some blue portable office containers.

Control Resonant Central Sensor 2.jpg

Another sensor is northeast of the central pylon near the entrance to the Verconn building. You can find it on top of some orange portable office containers.

The third sensor is on a lone blue container east of the main pylon, next to a stack of large, yellow balloons.

Evacuation Zone Sensor Locations

The sensors in the Evacuation Zone are a bit more spread out, and finding them will test your traversal abilities more than in either Downtown or Central. The dark, rainy environment doesn’t help, either.

The main pylon is on a roof on the south side of Main Street, near the fast travel door. We’ll be using the door as a point of reference to find the sensors.

Control Resonant Evacuation Zone Sensor 1-r.jpg

One sensor is on a roof across the street north of the pylon and door. It can be a little tough to see, so keep an eye out for the slow-blinking red light.

Control Resonant Evacuation Zone Sensor 2-r.jpg

Another sensor is a short hop east of the pylon and door. It’s hard to miss if you give yourself time for the light to blink.

To reach the last sensor, you need to head southwest of the pylon, across the southern street, and onto a rooftop near a “Speed You Can Trust” sign. The sensor is right next to the sign.

West Incursion Zone Sensor Locations

The West Incursion Zone sensors are fairly simple to find. Proceed through the level until you reach the area with the House of Mirror’s theater. The map kit pylon is in the center of the town square near the theater.

One of the easier sensors to find is in the southwestern corner of the square, just west of the House of Mirrors near the “Patterned Area” sign.

A second sensor is on the eastern street corner near the House of Mirrors. You can see it easily from the first sensor mentioned.

The final sensor is northeast of the main pylon, in the middle of a street that goes vertical. You’re in the right place if you can easily see the Atlantis and The Badger stores nearby.

The Park Sensor Locations

The Park is by far the most dangerous of the zones you can initially access from Central, thanks to higher-level enemies and the poisonous threat of the Mold to contend with. Unlocking the map kit is relatively safe, thankfully, and you can find all the sensors and dip in short order.

Control Resonant The Park Sensor 1.jpg

One of the sensors is a little way northwest of the central pylon. If you’ve found the Park Valley fast travel door at the western edge of the zone, you can reach this sensor by heading northeast.

Control Resonant The Park Sensor 2.jpg

You’ll find another sensor on ground level north of the main pylon, in a mold-filled ditch between a small building and a highrise.

Control Resonant The Park Sensor 3.jpg

To reach a third sensor, jump down off the roof with the pylon and head southwest. The sensor is on a squad building, just above some graffiti on the outer wall.

The Underpass Sensor Locations

You’ll need to progress the story quite a ways before you unlock the Underpass, a strange location far beneath the Manhattan streets and the Sinkhole that leads below them.

Additionally, you won’t be able to access the map nearly as easily here. Your first order of business is to reach the massive, white-lit spire southwest of where you enter the zone.

Control Resonant Underpass Sensors-r.jpg

Once you reach the Spire, activate the fast travel door there and look over the southeastern ledge. You’ll see the map kit pylon and all three of its sensors from the spire platform. You’ll likely also notice the powerful Hiss enemies wandering about the area. Clearing them should be your first priority.

The three sensors are on top of the north, east, and south columns that surround the map kit pylon. Reaching them is easy once you clear any Hiss threats.

The Unknown Zone Sensor Locations

To reach the map kit pylon in the Unknown, you’ll first need to disregard what “up” and “down” normally mean. The Unknown is all about futzing with your perception, and navigating the area requires a lot of standing on the ceiling and walking on the walls.

You also need to place a pair of probes to generate a “knot” or platform that can help you reach the larger Unknown space.

Control Resonant Unknown First Balloon Probes.jpg

Go over to the supply balloon Pope placed in the start area of the Unknown near the elevator, let down the box, and attack it to open it up.

Control Resonant Unknown First Probe Circle.jpg

Pick up one of the probes and walk it over to the rough red circle on the ground nearby. Remember what these look like. If you plan to fully explore the Unknown, you’ll be seeing a lot of them.

Control Resonant Unknown Second Probe.jpg

Place the second probe on the opposite end of the starting area, again in the rough red circle, to spawn a platform you can use the Reach ability to…reach.

Control Resonant Unknown First Platform.jpg

Once you’re on the platform, ignore any survival instincts you may have and jump off of it, down toward the nexus of buildings far “below.”

About midway down through the nexus, you should see the map kit pylon. Right, left, up, and down are all relative in this space, but for our purposes here, down will be the level where you stand next to the pylon.

Control Resonant Unknown Sensor 1-r.jpg

To reach one of the sensors, look out toward the red brick building with the “Yo” graffiti on it. Jump across to that building and keep right. You should see the sensor on a roof not far away.

Control Resonant Unknown Sensor 2-r.jpg

Another sensor is hanging from a roof above the pylon. To reach it, use Reach on a nearby rooftop to swap where “up” and “down” are, then look across the street toward the white brick building with graffiti on its walls. If you look below you, you’ll see a red Bus Only sign on the street “below” you.

Control Resonant Unknown Sensor 3-r.jpg

A third sensor is on the same plane as the main pylon. You can easily see the top of the Oldest House from it. Otherwise, look for bright white floodlights and a deflated yellow balloon. The sensor is near both.

Control Resonant Mapping New New York.jpg

If you’ve managed to find and activate all seven map kits, you’ll complete the quest Notes: Mapping the New New York, and receive the Untapped Fork artifact for your trouble.
