All Mysterious Dog and Dog Toy Locations

Yes, you can pet the dog in Control Resonant, and even have her as a personal pet when you complete the Every Dog Has Her Day side story. To do that, you’ll need to find the dog in all seven of the game’s zones and complete a small traversal puzzle to retrieve her toy. After finding her and returning her toy seven times, she’ll wind up in yet another impossible place only you and she can share. How to Complete Every Dog Has Her Day

The mysterious dog can be found in each of the seven zones you can explore in Control Resonant, and finding her and her toy gets more complicated as you progress.

You’ll know the dog is nearby thanks to the pawprint icon that appears on your map. Note, however, that said icon won’t appear until after you’ve been close to the dog, so finding her isn’t as simple as unlocking the map. The icon does hang around once you’ve found her, though.

Here’s where to find the dog and her toy in each zone during Every Dog Has Her Day.

Where to Find the Dog and Her Toy in Downtown

You find the mysterious dog in southernmost Downtown, and you can reach her almost as soon as you start the game. Head generally southwest across the rooftops from the Downtown map kit pylon and the Outside the Oldest House fast travel door.

Look for a tall, thin column with speakers at the top. You can find the dog on a lower rooftop just south of it.

The dog’s toy is on another, still lower rooftop to her southeast. Simply jump across the street, grab the toy, and float back across to the dog and deposit the toy to complete the Downtown section of Every Dog Has Her Day.

Where to Find the Dog and Her Toy in Central

While the dog in Central isn’t hard to find, she is surrounded by his enemies, and her toy is guarded by several laser beams.

Start your search at the Central Frontline fast travel door in the northern section of the zone. You’re headed southeast toward the Motive gas station in the far corner.

You’ll find the dog on the rooftop of the building just north of the station. Her toy isn’t far.

To reach it, jump down into the alleyway filled with lasers and enemies. At the north end fo the alley is a sign for Chowrap dog food. You’ll find the toy underneath it.

Traverse your way back to the dog and place her toy on its little bed to complete this part of the side story.

Where to Find the Dog and Her Toy in the West Incursion Zone

Be sure to complete the West Incursion Zone Fault for the Shift ability, as the dog is (somehow) waiting in a gravitational anomaly in the northwesternmost section of the area.

Start at the Theater Vista fast travel door, then go west across the plaza with the map kit pylon. You’re headed toward the parking garage in the distance.

The fastest way there is to use Shift to walk “up” the wall on the western side of the plaza. From there, continue west down the street with the parking garage on your left.

Near the western end of the road, you should see a Patterned building sticking up on your left. You’ll see a blue and yellow umbrella on one of the corners. The dog is nearby.

Look across the southern gap and you’ll see a larger Chowrap dog food sign. Jump over to it and shift onto the “roof” to its east.

You’ll see the dog’s toy atop a set of air conditioning units. Return it to her to complete this section of Every Dog Has Her Day.

Where to Find the Dog and Her Toy in the Evacuation Zone

You need the Shift and Reach abilities to find the dog in the Evacuation Zone, so be sure to complete the Evacuation Zone and West Incursion Zone Faults to unlock them.

With the abilities in hand, start at the Main Street fast travel door by the map kit pylon, then head northeast. Jump down at the vendor truck and head north to the cross street.

Look west down the street and you’ll see an upside down building with some graffiti on its side. That’s where you’ll find the dog.

Head “underneath” the dog, then use Reach to Shift onto the rooftop of the upside down building.

You can find the dog’s toy a short way west, on the roof above her. Use Reach to Shift “up” to reach the toy’s level, grab it, and return to her.

Where to Find the Dog and Her Toy in The Park

The dog in The Park is deceptively easy to find, and you’ll find her in the far northeastern section of the zone.

To start, go to the mold-filled parking garage to in the northeast Park, and use the door in the yellow acid pit to reach the northern part of the zone.

Head west and then turn south down the road with a mold barrier. Climb the barrier and get on top of the parking garage with the vendor.

If you look northeast from atop the garage, you’ll see a fast travel door.

You can find the dog a short jaunt north of the door.

Getting to her toy is a tougher challenge. You’ll need to power the elevator northwest of where she waits for you, then ride it up onto the platform with the toy.

There’s a power core station at ground level west of where you find the dog. Head there and charge the Abberant with electricity.

You can now either use Reach to get on the rooftops or traverse the yellow-acid alleyway to get to the core that powers the elevator. Beware that there’s a small horde of mold enemies near it.

Once the elevator gets you to the top of the building, you’ll find the dog toy next to a desk on a chimney. Return it to the dog as you’ve been doing.

Where to Find the Dog and Her Toy in the Underpass

By far the best way to find the dog in the Underpass zone is to almost complete it. You need to get past the various research stations and the overlapping timelines until you reach the, well, Research Stations fast travel door near of the southern end of the area, just before you can access the bright yellow cable car.

Getting to the dog from this southernmost fast travel door is relatively simple. Start by jumping down from the northeastern corner of the door platform and make your way across the first lower level you reach.

There’s a Reach point you can access at the other end of the lower platform, and the dog is in the middle of the red floored area you Reach up to.

Getting the dog’s toy takes a little extra doing. Go along the western wall north of her and follow it around the column proceeding upward as you.

You’ll eventually see a ledge of red floor above you. Jump up to it and use Shift to reorient yourself such that you’re now standing on the ledge.

Proceed east around the central column, hopping across a couple smaller platforms, until you reach a larger area with a hole in the floor.

The toy is stuck floating near the southern edge of this upside-down area. Pick it up, the drop it so gravity pulls it back to the dog’s level, then return to the dog the way you came to avoid needing to do a bunch of extra platforming.

Where to Find the Dog and Her Toy in the Unknown

Finding the dog and her toy in the Unknown is by far the hardest part of this quest, not least because the place is a multi-dimensional maze to navigate. You’ll need to progress the Pope’s Research side story enough that you have access to the central zone where you find the Unknown map kit pylon.

From there, you want to head the equivalent of northwest on your map. Keep a lookout for the large, Moldy construction site. That’s the closest point of interest you can reach to where you need to go.

Look for a set of orange construction barrel platforms leading northwest (as it appears on your in-game map). Jump across them and down into the Patterned area on the other side.

We’ll keep using the in game map for our bearings, as even though the Unknown doesn’t really have a consistent north, when you open the map, the arrow will still point in a discernible direction.

Once you reach the northwestern section of the Unknown, you can find the dog in the northeastern area opposite the skyscraper you landed on when you first arrived.

Turn around from facing the dog and look west. Jump across the buildings toward the sign on the side of the skyscraper. Proceed down the pathway leading away from the sign, then jump onto the roof of the buildings across the street. You’ll need to Shift over to the top of the buildings that sit perpendicular to the skyscraper.

Use these perpendicular buildings to reach a higher level on the skyscraper covered in well-set tables. There’s a “Bar” sign at the end of the platform you need to jump to. You’ll find the dog’s toy right next to the sign.

Where to Find the Dog to get the Dog’s Best Friend Achievement

The final step of Every Dog Has Her Day is to go to the Gap and visit her there. You won’t be searching for her toy at all here, and if you go up and pet her, she’ll finally accept you as a friend and the achievement should pop up.

You'll also receive the Untapped Trusted Spanner artifact, which, when equipped, increases your Raw damage output by a flat 15%.
