How to Level Up Zones

Apart from upgrading your weapons, Talents, and Combat Abilities, you can also level up the Zones and locations you explore in Control Resonant. You will want to do this because every new Zone level will give you a unique benefit, such as expanding your Vendors’ merchandise, boosting the spawn of Health Elements, unlocking new outfits, and much more.

In this IGN guide, we will go over how to level up Zones and what you need to keep in mind while exploring new areas in Control Resonant.

How to Level Up Zones

Whenever you enter a new location, you can open the map and see that there’s a number right next to the Zone’s name on the right side of the screen. You will also see this whenever you complete an in-game activity or combat. This is the Zone Level, and you need Zone XP to increase it. Each time the level goes up, you’ll unlock rewards and earn a Talent Point.

There are many ways of leveling up every location. To start with, opening small and large resource crates (the latter are marked on your map) will give Zone XP, no matter what resources and items you get. Also, solving Secrets (riddles marked with a question mark) will also help you level up.

Then, World Feats are events where you need to complete a simple task, such as defending an FBC crate with allies or defeating a specific group of enemies. These are indicated with an arrow pointing down on your map. Complete them for Zone XP.

Defeating enemies swarming areas will also give you points, but don’t forget that you need to focus on the Heavy Enemies first: as long as one is standing, Drone Enemies will continuously spawn. You only receive experience after defeating all the heavy ones.

The most experience you’ll earn for each zone, however, is when you complete Story Quests and Side Stories. Naturally, they will level up the zone where the mission takes place.

As your Zone level gets higher, you’ll need more points, and regular actions like defeating groups of enemies will give you only a few points. When this begins to happen, always focus on completing quests (main or secondary) and World Feats. These will give you a little more than the rest.
