Freeze Frame Walkthrough
You can start the Freeze Frame Side Story in Control Resonant within the first hour of the game, but don’t expect to finish it in nearly that short a time. You’ll be looking for a pesky teleporting camera across many of the game’s early zones, guided only by some snapshots and your knowledge of the map. Don’t worry, though. We’ll show you everywhere you need to go to complete Freeze Frame in Control Resonant.

How to Start Freeze Frame
There are two ways to start Freeze Frame: either run into a camera that freezes you in place somewhere in the world, or find a strange photograph or two in a particular zone. As of writing, there are confirmed photographs in all three of the four initial areas of the game: Central, Evacuation Zone, West Incursion Zone. Odds are, there are more as you continue to progress.
These photos show the location directly in front of the camera, and look out on some major point of interest in that particular zone. You need to use your knowledge of major landmarks to find the camera, then complete a small platforming or traversal challenge to get behind it before it can teleport away.
Where to Find the Camera Pictures in Central
You can find the two Freeze Frame pictures for the Central Region in the FBC field office. Specifically, once you’re in the building, head to the back end, past the planning table where you pick up the level one security keycard. You’ll find them on a desk on the right next to a brown pillar, a plant, and a bank of camera rolls.
How to Reach the First Camera in Central
The first place you find a camera is in the Watchtower, where Zoe gives you your mission and points out the first few places you need to explore.
From her office overlook, turn left (east), then make your way to the bottom of the staircase.
At the bottom, head west toward the darkly orange-lit room and follow the path around until you have to jump up some scaffolding. You’re likely to run into the camera there. It will freeze you in place for a few seconds, then disappear.
To complete this section of Freeze Frame, you need to get behind the camera and close the shutter. Luckily, doing so is simple this time.
To get behind the camera in the watchtower, return to the bottom of the scaffolding to make it reappear (if necessary).
Return to the same level as the camera, then look above the scaffolding to see a hole in the ceiling.
Double jump up through it, and follow the upper path south until you reach another set of deep-orange lights. Drop down and you’ll find yourself behind the camera.
Walk up and interact with it from behind to close the shutter and send it off to another section of the game.
How to Reach the Camera Across from the City That Never Stops Sign
There are two ways to reach this camera. The first is to have the Reach ability gained from the Fault in the Evacuation Point zone. There’s a grapple point on the south side of the parking lot structure you can use.
The second is to go through the parking lot itself. The entrance you can access from the ground is on the west side, near the path toward the West Incursion Zone checkpoint.
From the central plaza, head southeast and look for a blue semi truck and an Available sign on the side of a brick building.
Turn south from the truck and you’ll see the rear entrance to the parking lot. You’ll need to fight your way up to the top level, clearing each floor as you go. Once you reach daylight again, remove all the Hiss from the rooftop and look north across the street.
The camera waits inside an open doorway. To reach it, jump across and let it freeze you, then use the staircase behind it to enter the warehouse.
Allow the camera time to reappear, then head back up the staircase and close the shutter.
Where to Find the Camera Pictures in the Evacuation Zone
To find the pictures in the Evacuation Zone, head to the eastern section of the area, where you go to investigate the tremors during the main story campaign.
In front of the building spewing spooky red light, you’ll see two raised, orange portable offices. You need to go into the western one.
You can find the first of the two cards on the standing printer, and the second on the back-left table.
How to Reach the Camera Facing the Wall
One of the Evacuation Zone Freeze Frame pictures shows the camera facing a low wall, with a sign saying “Fired over nothing” barely visible in the background.
To reach it, you’ll first need to carry some electricity from the Power Core Station near the portable offices all the way west to the door behind the camera in the western part of the Zone. The closest map marker is noted as “Unauthorized mines?”
Attack one of the power cores to charge the Abberant, then proceed a little way west. You’ll need to platform your way up onto the roof of a building on the south side of the road, where you’ll find another Power Core. Deposit the charge there to reset its timer, then attack the core again to reclaim the charge.
Drop back down to street level, and continue west. You’ll see a core on your left before you reach the double doors.
Deposit the charge and pick it back up as before, and keep heading west, through the double doors, past the parking lot on your left, until you reach a pair of unpowered elevators. Bank the charge.
Now’s the final hurdle. Grab the charge and go west to the end of the road. Use the parked semi truck to gain a little height, and jump up onto the platform on the south side of the road.
From there, jump across to the lower rooftop on the other side of the street and deposit the charge next to the door, unlocking it.
All that’s left now is to close the camera shutter.
How to Reach the Camera Facing Construction
The second Freeze Frame Camera in the Evacuation Zonehere is in the far north of the region, near the Railyard Street Station. Specifically, you’re looking for a building south of the station.
The building is on the southeast corner, across from the construction site. There’s a massive amount of blue mold growing neat where you need to go, as well.
Let the camera see you to open the way into the building behind it, then head to the bottom floor to activate the elevator. Leave the building briefly to let the camera reappear and you’re free to go back up to the rooftop door and close the shutter behind it.
