You can make Dylan much stronger and have an easier time against enemies and bosses in Control Resonant. To achieve this, you’ll have to unlock nodes in the protagonist’s skill tree and purchase upgrades for your different weapons (Aberrant Forms) and Combat Abilities. You will have to visit the Gap, your strange inner place, to do all of that.

How To Upgrade Your Character
The most straightforward way of improving Dylan’s abilities and stats is through the Talents tree that you can access at the Gap. You need to interact with the object with multiple stones to be able to see every unlockable upgrade.
Each upgrade requires a Talent Point, and you get this by leveling up Zones. Each time you increase your Zone Level, you’ll receive one Talent Point.
The Talent tree works like most skill trees in other video games, and you’ll have to unlock the Talent nodes at the bottom to be able to unlock the ones that follow. Each Talent gives you a unique buff, stat boost, or new state that will make combat easier.
How to Upgrade Your Weapons
To upgrade any Aberrant Form (weapon) in your arsenal, you first need to interact with the big pillar in the Gap. This will open the upgrade nodes for every available weapon, and you can also purchase other ones if you want.
To unlock any upgrade, you need to have the required material. For example, every upgrade usually asks for Source, which is a common material that you get by defeating enemies. Then you may need other specific resources like Distorted Forms, which you can also get by defeating enemies, opening crates, or completing missions.
How Aberrant Strength Works
All the upgrades you unlock count toward your Aberrant Strength, one of your character's main stats that determine your level. This might feel counterintuitive, but apart from focusing on your favorite Aberrant Form, you should try to unlock and upgrade all of them. Even if you don’t use them, their upgrades will improve your base Raw Damage and Falter Damage.
Also, your Aberrant Strength will help determine if you’re underleveled or not for the enemies that you’ll face in every Zone. For example, if you see Skulls next to their health bars, it means that you’re a bit too low. You might need to increase your Aberrant Strength, your total health or power, or other stats from the Talents tree.
